ABOUT US

Awareness 4 Prostate Cancer was founded by a Bishop Ryan High School student, Aadharsh Ashraph, to spread awareness and educate people on the severity and prevention methods of Prostate Cancer. He also works inside McMaster’s level 2 biohazardous research lab, situated inside St. Joes Healthcare Hamilton, as a research volunteer.

Prostate Cancer is the number 1 cancer affecting 1 in 9 males, however, the slow-developing vague symptoms of cancer make it difficult for patients to pay attention to the symptoms. As a result, most people will get diagnosed at a later stage when cancer has spread to other organs, which could be dangerous and life-threatening. But if diagnosed early, there is an almost 100% chance of a patient surviving another 5 years. Through our organization, you can learn about the preventative methods and treatment options to ensure successful measures against Prostate Cancer.

Partnered with Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School, we aim to raise awareness for Prostate Cancer by promoting a Bro-vember / Movember campaign to support men’s mental health and health care.

Together, Bishop Ryan and Awareness 4 prostate cancer have raised $1500 in fundraisers to support McMaster University’s postgraduate urology research team, led by Dr. Damu Tang
